Today, Christopher Bailey and Burberry announced that it will be folding all of its sub-labels under one roof, simply called, well, "Burberry" obviously. If you recall, Burberry has been using a bunch of different labels for its different collections. There's Prorsum, Sport, London and Brit, all their own separate entities tied to the overarching Burberry brand. All of those labels will now be nixed and officially eliminated by the end of 2016 and singularly labeled Burberry pieces will begin to show up in summer 2016. The "Prorsum" collection that we're all used to seeing on the runway will still show during fashion weeks, just now under simplified the Burberry moniker.

Bailey basically said that no one even cares about labels anymore, especially when the differences are so vague. The sub-labels were introduced when Burberry's sales were reliant on wholesale accounts, which isn't necessarily the case today. Brands want to appear totally united and streamlined now more than ever, so this is one step toward doing just that for the English fashion giant. There was also the announcement that Burberry is going to open a $77 million factory in Leeds, England solely responsible for expanding the Burberry trench coat empire that will be completed by 2018 and will help ease the load on its two current factories that are now at capacity, turning out more trenches than ever. All in all, it seems that things are going pretty well for Burberry and Bailey.
