A Year Should Be Your New Favorite Magazine That You Actually Read

None

Everyone is starting a magazine these days. It's all "expensive cardstock" this, "big, beautiful images" that. They start to blend together after awhile. That or they end up collecting dust on the book shelf. But here's a new magazine that you should, like, actually read. It's called A Year and it comes out every six months. That's a little bit of a contradiction, but bear with us. Each issue of A Year focuses all the content and stories within it on one specific year. This debut issue is all about 1991, which had such important cultural touch points as the Soviet Union falling and Nirvana's release of Nevermind. Featured in the issue are a photographic series based around the the 1991 Yamaha XT600 motorcycle, an illustrated version of the 1991 NBA Finals when Michael Jordan got his first ring and a whole lot of other cool stuff. Surprisingly, there are other things out in the world aside from dank memes and fire tweets, if you can believe it. You can pick up the first issue right now for $20.

The next issue, out in Spring 2016, will be 2003.
