The Rumor Mill On Who Will Replace Alexander Wang At Balenciaga Has Begun

None

Maybe it's because we're not exactly privy to the conversation of true fashion insiders, but the rumor mill surrounding Alexander Wang's replacement at Balenciaga had been suspiciously quiet. A little too quiet. It almost makes you think that there's already a replacement chosen and hired but not officially announced yet. Where's the fanfare and rumor mongering? Fortunately, The New York Times finally broke in with some conversation on the subject. Who is on the shortlist to be Wang's successor as he goes off to focus on his own brand (and Evian bottles)?

The leaders in the clubhouse are apparently Chitose Abe of Sacai, Julien Dossena of Paco Rabanne and Moroccan designer Bouchra Jarrar. Abe's spokesperson said she has not been contacted by by anyone at Balenciaga while Dossena's people at Paco Rabanne and Jarrar both declined to comment. All three run their own brands right now, so they'd be taking on double duty. But can we please imagine a world where Abe takes over Balenciaga? That would be phenomenal. We're huge fans. Abe turns out some of the dopest stuff with Sacai right now so bringing her onboard would be very exciting.

Anyway, with Wang's final show for the house taking place in just a few hours now, the rumor mill and revolving door talk should ramp up quite a bit and we'll be here to monger any and all rumors as they happen.
