I'm sure you've looked into the possibility of buying or selling your own custom shirts. After all, you're an intrepid reader base who are exceedingly handsome and have great ideas. But it's not always easy to get your foot in the door and make any money off of your T-shirt designs, no matter how earth-shattering they happen to be. If you're looking for some hope and inspiration though, Fortune talked to Teespring, a service which allows customers to design and sell their own custom T-shirt designs. Though you've surely fooled around on Custom Ink or something similar at some point, Teespring lets us know just how much people are actually making off their designs.

Apparently, in 2014 alone, 20 people received $1 million+ from their shirt sales on the site and hundreds more received $100,000+. Naturally, those are in the minority, but that's still a pretty fucking hefty paycheck for something you can put together and sell pretty quickly, provided it's good enough, of course. Shit's like a gateway drug to designing full-fledged clothing. On average, sellers using Teespring makes $3,700 per year compared to $3,000 on Etsy and just $1,400 on eBay. Not a bad chunk of change on the side, right? And if we're honest, it's always these off-beat and undercover ventures that net the most profit. We're rapidly approaching the end of year, so you don't have all that much time to make Operation Cash Out 2K15 close out with a bang. Have at it. We believe in you. If Virgil can do it, so can you.
