Since we're hitting the apex of Fashion Week as editors finish up in Milan and head to Paris, The Atlantic decided to examine the other audience attending shows whose job titles conveniently do not include "editor." That's right, we're about to hear about the plight of the fashion blogger. Yes, we've been here many times before, but as blogging has become an actual, viable career path, there are studies being written about bloggers like they're some sort of new species or something.

The bloggers The Atlantic spoke with all say that they spend at least 80 hours per week dedicated to their blogs, many of them citing figures as high as 100 hours per week. That averages out to 14 hours per day assuming you don't have a calculator handy. For those trying to make a living off their blog, that sometimes means endorsing products for a substantial pay day with candid shots on the 'Gram that are clearly staged. No shit. You can't be going around ethering your personal brand with a photo that might give off even a hint of the most minor of flaws. The result of this always-on mentality? Fashion bloggers are experiencing constant privacy issues and anxiety about their work. Cry me a river.

Wow, it's almost like blogging has turned into an actual job and not some high-end version of Peter Pan Syndrome, complete with the existential dread that comes with working all the time and never taking a day off just like the rest of us suckers who thanks to a normal 9 to 5 are all but completely fucking dead inside. Welcome to the real world. We have no sympathy for you.
