Vanity Fair Drops Annual "International Best-Dressed List" And It's Not Terrible

None

Best-dressed lists usually don't mean shit, especially when they're recapping various red carpet events because it's the Illuminati's duty to try and convince us that famous, swagless people are meant to be worshiped. But Vanity Fair's annual "International Best-Dressed List" has a bit more of a true pedigree to it, making it arguably the only non-Four Pins list that matters. 2015 marks the list's 75th anniversary and it includes a wide variety fashion professionals, Hollywood stars and even designated couples in what is presumably an effort to cast as wide a net as possible and not leave anyone off that's deserving of the honor. Let's take a quick, concise look at this year's selections because they're actually not terrible.

One thing I like about VF's approach is its tendency to choose royalty because there is nothing flyer than true royalty. On the men's side, there are two distinctly royal choices: Prince Harry and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden. When you get to dress like this—even if it isn't your choice—that's some king shit. There's also Apple's design guru, Jonathan Ive. That's a bit odd because I wasn't totally sure that he even had a bottom half. For some inexplicable reason, Russell Wilson, who has not yet had sex with Ciara and, presumably, never had sex ever, also makes an appearance.

As for Hollywood, we've got black tie staples in Michael Fassbender and Eddie Redmayne. Of the perennially, well-known red carpet flexers, these are the only two men included, but still worthy choices in their own right.

In the couples category, designer Thom Browne and his boyfriend Andrew Bolton, curator at The Costume Institute at the Met, make an appearance. As for the industry professionals, Public School's Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, Zac Posen and street style legend/nicest person in the fashion, Nick Wooster, round out the XY chromosomes.

All things considered, again, this list is not bad. Sure, there are some wild cards in there, but that's by design. You can take a look at the full list here.
