It was a long weekend for us to celebrate our unabashed patriotism for this fine, fine country, but that also means we need to catch you up on some news so you don't sound like you're completely out of the fucking loop on all things clothing on the Internet. Here's a start: Pigalle and Stephane Ashpool took home that ANDAM award we posted about a while back. The prize is simple—a whole lot of money to reinvest into the business, some mentorship under Chanel's Bruno Pavlovsky, a bunch of Swarovski crystals to incorporate into the clothing and a collaboration with The Corner.

That's a whole lot of guap and recognition for the brand, which Ashpool plans to "invest in a proper in-house atelier from which to design, create, communicate, and sell. What you’d call in the past a maison couture, but with a new flavor." He's got the money to get the foundation started, that's for sure. I really enjoyed Pigalle's S/S 16 collection, which used members of the basketball team he coaches in Paris to show off his latest designs. He apparently also used them to model for the jury behind this award, a good way to show just how different the brand is from the competition. Things are only looking up for Pigalle and it should be exciting to see what's next thanks to a cash injection.
