Dickies Construct, the NYC-based cousin of the Dickies you know and love, just dropped their Autumn/Winter 2015 lookbook. Much like Carhartt WIP did for Detroit icon Carhartt, this offshoot line gives the Americana classic a modern facelift.

But what makes Dickies Construct different from the Dickies you can cop at your local Wal-Mart? The OG version of Dickies was founded as the "US Overall Company" in Texas nearly 100 years ago, focusing on classic apparel that can take a beating. It's this tough rep that's made the label popular amongst skaters and blue collar workers alike. With Dickies Construct, the aim is assimilate Dickies into the wardrobes of more contemporary palettes. Workwear is great, but introducing guys to that durable gear through modern silhouettes is a perfect way to expand your audience.

As the brand says on its website: "The image of modern style, constructed with the Dickies standard of ingenuity. [It's] the idea that our passion is our work, and that great work deserves great style."

For Autumn/Winter 2015, the lookbook combines Dickies workwear (chore coats, flat-front workpants) with a streetwear silhouette. Yes, you'll find pieces that may have a home on a construction site or work yard, but the cuts of trousers, jackets, vests, and shirts are going to fit in moreso on a city sidewalk than a hard-hat area.

Ivan Dominguez, the global brand director at Dickies Construct, describes the line as: "a happy medium between workwear legacy and modern day tailoring.” After a peek at the lookbook, we're definitely interested in how this brand will remix the classic Dickies label.
