Alexander Wang's tenure as creative director at Balenciaga might be over, according to WWD.
The designer has become one of fashion's biggest stars since taking over for the Parisian brand for Nicolas Ghesquièrein 2012. However, there are reportedly talks that Balenciaga won't renew Wang's contract when it ends this year. According to WWD, a spokesperson for Balenciaga could only confirm that negotiations were underway.
Although Wang will design the next collection for Balenciaga, it's possible that he may want to focus on his namesake label afterwards. Sources told WWD that the designer has been looking for a private investor to support his own brand, and are suggesting that he might not be able to juggle both businesses.
