Pigalle, Umit Benan And Others Up For Big Time French Fashion Award

None

You probably haven't heard of the ANDAM award, but this morning Style Dot Com informed us that there are a couple of heavy, if slightly unexpected hitters up for consideration. The award, which goes to a designer who shows their collections during Paris Fashion Week, comes with a pretty hefty prize package of 370,000 Euros (about $417,000), a yearlong mentorship with Chanel's Bruno Pavlovsky, a capsule collection with The Corner and 10,000 Euros worth of Swarovski crystals (uh, sweet?) to use in the winner's next collection. Ami took home the title in 2013 and is the only menswear label to have ever won.

The five brands include a couple of choices that are not necessarily odd, but definitely make you think. They're spotlighting some relative newcomers who have carved out a very specific look and a mixture of brands in both menswear and womenswear. This year's nominees are Pallas, Anrealage, Vetements—who have gotten a lot of play because Kanye wore one of their hoodie of course—and two Four Pins favorites in Umit Benan and Pigalle. The winners will be announced in September, likely before Paris Fashion Week starts up again. Good luck with those crystals, fam.
