Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Both Wore Custom Roberto Cavalli by Peter Dundas Gear to the Met Gala

His and hers custom gear for fashion's biggest night.

Even before the guest list for the 2015 Met Gala leaked online, there were some celebrities that were expected to walk the red carpet of one of the fashion world's biggest nights, including Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Back in 2013, they both wore Givenchy to the event, though Kim's outfit choice got a lot more shine in the press (except for when she was cropped out of photos). The following year, Kanye rocked Lanvin and was praised by Anna Wintour for getting the white tie dress code "almost perfect." So there was a bit of pressure for both of them to kill it at this year's event.

Kim announced via Twitter this morning that her dress for the evening would be designer Peter Dundas' first with Roberto Cavalli, and Dundas posted a teaser of what one of his #CavalliGirls would be wearing, but he wouldn't say which one.

As it turns out, the teaser was not from Kim's last fitting because her dress shows a lot more skin between the numerous head to toe pearls. Kanye was right by her side wearing a custom Roberto Cavalli by Peter Dundas burgundy velvet tuxedo with matching velvet kimono shirt and scarf embroidered with burgundy silk threading.

Kim shared on Instagram that her dress was inspired by one that Cher wore back in the day. Kim says it was the first ever Met Gala, but it was actually 1974, and the dress was designed by Bob Mackie.
