It's not often that the world acknowledges how hard it is for pretty people, but the struggle is real. According to a new study done by someone who studies organizational behavior at the University of Maryland, handsome guys are at a "disadvantage" when it comes to finding a job because they are just too damn good looking.

Marko Pitesa and his fellow researchers suggest that "attractive males are always seen as more competent than unattractive males," but when hiring someone who may compete with you in the workplace, employers go with the unattractive, less competent applicant. The full research article titled "When beauty helps and when it hurts: An organizational context theory of attractiveness discrimination in selection decisions," will be published in the forthcoming issue of the journal Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes

Recent history has proven that Pitesa and his team are correct. Attractive convicts are launching modeling careers in prison, and attractive guys only have to run races to become a meme. The ugly guys are laughing all the way to the bank and it's really not fair.
