If you were like me in high school, you didn't take your eyes off the TV and didn't move your thumbs from the analog sticks of your Xbox controller, all the while sipping Mountain Dew. I played a hell of a lot of video games in my day. That was before fashion reached down like the hand of God and blessed me. But there is no reason we cannot combine the two worlds, as this story from Game Informer shows us. Apparently, in an effort to make the main character's wardrobe believable and cool, the developers of Deus Ex: Human Revolution kept things reasonable and realistic, drawing basic inspiration from a typical trench coat. It was even available to purchase if you were the biggest dork alive.

The result is a simple black coat that works to give Adam Jensen, the character, a cool factor, but they didn't stop there. For the next game, it teamed up with Acronym to model and create a new and improved version of the coat. It uses magnets instead of a zipper for easy removal and has the signature Acronym strap to sling over the wearer's shoulder. It even features a sleeve that can retract and fold up over Jensen's arm, which, as video game characters tend to have, is all special and robotic and shit. Acronym's Errolson Hugh also gave some quotes about just how much work and research went into the new coat, like the materials he might be using in 2029, when the game takes place. So much for fashion and video game nerdom being separate.
