Sliding right into the inbox this morning was some pretty incredible news, Uniqlo and Lemaire will be teaming up for both a men's and women's F/W 15 collection. The brand formerly known as Christophe Lemaire has undergone some big changes recently, launching a women's collection and an online store to ship you goods directly from the source. The design philosophies between Uniqlo and Lemaire match up: "We have always dreamt to work with Uniqlo. Uniqlo designs qualitative and made for all garments for everyday life. It is also our approach to fashion, and the philosophy of Lemaire," the design duo of Christophe and his partner Sarah-Linh Tran said in a statement.

It really does seem like a solid match from our perspective. Lemaire makes some of the cleanest, most covetable and luxe pieces in fashion today, while Uniqlo gives you all the basics you need in your everyday life. This should be a really fucking awesome collection assuming that the designs and quality don't get watered down too much. Will we see affordable version of Lemaire classics like the "Kaftan coat" or completely new silhouettes? We await the answers with bated breath.

Lemaire follows in the footsteps of many other successful Uniqlo collabs with Jil Sander, Undercover, Michael Bastian and, most recently, Alexandre Plokhov. Aside from maybe Jil Sander, this one seems like the the most cohesive partnership to date. It just works. In the meantime, get yourself excited for what is to come by reading The Business of Fashion's piece on Lemaire, published literally yesterday, right before this news broke, that charts his rise through Lacoste and Hermes to the exciting moment that Lemaire is now in the midst of. This collaboration is sure to be absolutely incredible.
