Considering the rising tensions between police and the public in the wake of the Eric Garner and Michael Brown cases and the events that have followed, a threatening message to the NYPD seems more serious than ever before. On Monday, graffiti threatening the lives of New York police officers was found in Queens, reports DNA Info.

The disturbing message reads “PSA-9 'n' 107 Pct R Next to Die" and was seen in the basement of a building at the Pomonok Houses on Parsons Boulevard. The spray painted message comes just after the deaths of Detectives Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, who were shot and killed while sitting in their patrol car on Dec. 20. In another act of violence against the NYPD, on Monday night, two plainclothes officers responding to a robbery were shot in the Bronx.

According to DNA Info, however, "It was not immediately clear if the NYPD is investigating the graffiti as a threat," but their sources say that the NYPD's Citywide Vandals Task Force is handling the case.
