Winter sucks. There, it had to be said. At times, it can truly be beautiful and serene while affording you time to spend with the ones you love the most. But most of the time it’s unbearable, disgusting, and forces you to spend time with people who love you. But you would rather be by yourself wrapped in a blanket, or better yet, under a hot, perspiration-inducing sun. Who says you have to suffer through it?
A much-needed vacation is your reward to yourself. Whether it be for not cursing out your dad and his obsession with you “growing up” and “getting a real job,” or managing to shovel your walkway so your mailman doesn’t fracture three more of his vertebrae. Vacation is that escape from the world you’ve been looking for, but traveling in and of itself could cause some of that strife you’re trying to run away from. But you’re no novice. You’ve done this before and you know what you need to do to not only survive, but to thoroughly enjoy your time away from so-called life. Pack efficiently, but don’t skip the essentials, dude.
