This holiday season, Old Spice gifts us with another eccentric marketing campaign that hilariously illustrates guys’ transition into adulthood and the mother-father debate that surrounds it.
The 60-second commercial, appropriately titled “Dadsong,” is an unexpected sequel to the much-buzzed about “Mom Song” that depicted grieving mothers blaming Old Spice for turning their sons into grown men. Now, the fathers get to share their side of the story with a quirky tune that not only accepts their children’s maturity but flat out revels in it.
At the heart of this over-the-top song, written by Bret McKenzie from Flight of the Conchords, is the Old Spice Re-fresh Body Spray. Considered the gift that keeps on giving, this product features patented sweat-activated Re-fresh Technology that ensures "One Spray Lasts All Day,” finally putting an end to childish over-spraying.
The “Dadsong” ad will make its TV debut during this week’s NFL Thanksgiving games. However, you can get a first look at the commercial above as well as Old Spice’s social media pages.
