Well-loved and broken skateboard decks are usually tossed in the trash or abandoned at skate shops when they're replaced, but one company has found a way to recycle them into unique pieces of furniture that would look awesome in any room.

The company Deckstool has been killing the skateboard recycling game for a while now. This past weekend, Jason Podlaski of Deckstool participated in a "Creative Recycling" workshop in Brooklyn organized by Converse for the Cons Project. According to the New York Times, the young people who attended the workshop were schooled in the art of creating stools out of broken decks donated by skaters and participating skate shops.

The workshops will also be heading to Toronto and Boston later this month, so if you live in those areas and want to learn this skill, register now.
