COS, the sister brand of giant retailer H&M, is still set to launch its first store in New York City before 2014 is over. COS announced plans to open a store in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood last year, which were then delayed to "early winter," and we haven't heard anything else since—until today, that is.

The Swedish-based brand is on track to open the doors of its NYC location, only its second brick-and-mortar in the U.S., by the end of the year, reports WWD

The original plan was for COS' NYC location to be the first in the U.S. However, the brand opened a location in Los Angeles last month that claimed the honor. The Manhattan shop will be on Spring Street and will be slightly smaller than the one in Los Angeles.  “Right now we’re just concentrating on those two locations and getting to know this market,” COS' managing director Marie Honda told WWD

All in all, this is good news for New Yorkers looking to inject their wardrobes with affordable and stylish clothes.
