People who aren't from Paris make a big deal about it being one of the greatest cities in the world, and people who are not from New York think it's one of the greatest cities in the world because New Yorkers tell them it is. What if we told you that if you ignore geography, history, and language, the cities are actually identical in a lot of ways?

Videographer MATEL ventured in both cities with a Canon 5D Mark III to "explore not only these comparisons but also the differences, in order to expose the beauty and individuality of each," in a short film for OpenSkies Airline. He writes in the VIMEO caption for Paris / New York that "what you cannot deny is the vibrancy and explosion of character each city has and I thought split-screen with timelapse would be a good way to help convey this." From signage and architecture, to landmarks and food, the video does present each city as if it were a mirror image of the other, but the things that make them unique really stand out.
