When it comes to style and fashion, there’s no denying that the Japanese have the game on lock. Their progressive vision and meticulous craftsmanship have consistently set the standard for quality menswear, even within genres that originated outside of their country.

In recognition of Japan’s rich culture and sartorial contributions, Mr Porter has dedicated its latest issue of The Journal entirely to the Land of the Rising Sun. The main editorial, titled “The Portfolio,” features exclusive photos and interviews from the designers behind some of Japan’s leading menswear brands. We’re talking labels like Beams Plus (which recently dropped a Mr Porter collaboration), White Mountaineering, Neighborhood, Blue Blue Japan, and Remi Relief, all of which are carried on-site much to the joy of stylish dudes who can't make shopping trips to the Far East.

Other stories within the issue include “A Gentleman’s Guide: To Sake,” “A Saturday With: Zim of Black Shadow,” “The Interview: Featuring Photographer Mr Sohei Nishino,” and a piece that profiles various Japanese style icons.

Take a look below to get a sneak peek at the images from the main editorial. The 189th issue of The Journal officially goes live today at MrPorter.com.
