We are firm believers that sushi makes everything better. Larry Gagosian must agree because today he and chef Masa Takayama will open Kappo Masa, a sushi restaurant located on the Upper East Side directly below Gagosian Gallery

According to the New York Times, Gagosian decided that his neighborhood needed more restaurants, so he asked Takayama if he wanted to be a partner in the venture. The art dealer said that the restaurant "is not going to be an extension of the gallery," but obviously there is nothing stopping you from checking out both on the same day.

"The open kitchen produces raw and cooked items for a vast yet seasonal and often luxurious menu of sushi; sashimi; and grilled, steamed, braised and fried dishes often strewn with caviar or white truffles and served on dinnerware that Mr. Takayama designed," writes the Times.

Artnet communicated with PR representatives for Kappo Masa and were told that dinner for two will "come in at about $200, not including beverages," but they will also have bento boxes for the lunch crowd.
