Thin, pierced sheets of bubble-gum pink aluminum form the walls of French architect Marc Fornes and his studio The Very Many's latest installation The Situation Room. The intriguing structure encircles viewers in a vast membrane as a soundtrack crafted by sound artist Jana Winderen echoes in the background.

The sprawling structure features a series of interconnected tunnels and passages for the viewer to explore. In order to shape the installation, Fornes joined 20 spherical bases into a endless curving membrane using boolean mathematical operations. He stated that the piece aims to challenge the perceptions of the known and unknown by creating an, "Envelope of experiential tension," and pushing its viewers out of their comfort zones.

The installation will remain until November 21, so experience the unknown at the Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York.
