Sacha Jenkins is a man who wears many hats and who has had many titles, the current one being Creative Director of Mass Appeal. This October, Jenkins will be teaching a course at Pratt Institute's Center for Continuing and Professional Studies titled "Graffiti for Designers," and it's not too late for you to sign up.

Describing the course, Jenkins said that it "presents an opportunity for artists to expand upon their areas of expertise, to better understand the aesthetics of writing so when they do visually borrow from this rich language, their accents look and sound pretty good." Pratt’s Associate Director Chris Ferrara said that the idea for the course came after he attended the "Write of Passage" exhibition that Jenkins curated at Red Bull Studios last year. Learning about the culture made him realize that a course like "Graffiti for Designers" was necessary.

Operations Manager William "Skuf" Carrero told Mass Appeal, "The time has come to give graffiti its proper place in history. I am humbled that Pratt is giving the culture a look—a shot for people to better understand what it is we do...This is an artform that has had a direct impact on so many different artforms. This is class is actually a big deal."

"Graffiti for Designers" starts on Oct. 1 and runs through Dec. 3. For more information, click over to Mass Appeal.
