While rain initially thwarted the plans of free-spirited folk (looking at you, Diddy) at Burning Man, the festival eventually opened on Tuesday morning. The annual week-long art and music festival in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert has the rest of us, who are sadly stuck at the office or busy preparing for the upcoming school year, feeling pretty jealous.

We know your pain, and so does Roy Two Thousand, a filmmaker who captured last year's festival in one of the most extraordinary time-lapses we've ever laid eyes on. From breathtaking shots that capture the beauty and vastness of the Nevada desert, to intimate close-ups of the Black Rock City artists and happy festival-goers, anyone can enjoy the magic of this annual event and still be miles away from the scorching heat.

Roy Two Thousand and second shooters August Winkelman and Connor McNeill didn’t limit themselves to a strict time-lapse or hyperlapse; instead, they incorporated slow motion into their video, making it unique and truly able to capture the sense of enchantment that this festival is known for.
