Gone are the days when dinner meant spending time with family and reliving the day's events over a wholesome meal—at least for the majority of those living in New York.

Photographer Miho Aikawa decided to look into what "dinner" now means for New Yorkers and found that many of them actually spend their suppers alone. Her photo series "Dinner in New York" depicts people from all over the city scarfing down a bite while juggling other tasks.

So the next time you find yourself eating take-out with Netflix on, don't feel so bad. All of New York is probably doing the same thing.
