Last March, we threw a hat tip to Korean brand Wooyoungmi, advising that it'd be "well worth your time to get on board this still below-the-radar brand before it blows up." If the label still isn't on your radar, here's something that should change that.
Today marks the release of the brand's exclusive capsule collection for MR PORTER and accompanying editorial in The Journal. Designer Woo Youngmi has sourced inspiration from architecture and installation art to create an eight-piece run that exhibits a mastery of both colorblocking and alternating fabrics.
"I looked to create a capsule collection that was a natural evolution of my spring/ summer 2014 show, with its influences from the Korean artist Kyung Woo Han," Youngmi explains. "I was particularly inspired by the colours of minimal natural landscapes: sky blue, desert terracotta and cactus green."
Included is an unstructured blazer, a pair of runners, a folio, a tote bag, track pants, a tee, a pair of shorts and a button down, all of which will be available exclusively through MR PORTER.
