For an interview in the new issue of Human Being Journal, Ryan McGinness opened the doors to his art studio to provide a brief tour of where the magic happens. In the short Duncan Wolfe-directed video above, McGinness talks a bit about his process, how the skate and surf culture of his youth influences his work, and what he tries to achieve with his art.

McGinness says that an art studio is a "research and development lab" and a "place for failing," because he believes that an artist must fail in order to learn. See what else the artist had to say by watching the clip and by picking up a copy of the Human Being Journal today.
