Melbourne-based artist Elvis Schmoulianoff combined her lifelong passion of body painting with a standard point-and-shoot camera to create this tantalizing visual experience: a stop-motion short film called Painted. Back in 2012, the professional makeup artist was inspired to “do an experiment,” which led to an intense 10-day photo shoot in her bedroom. She selected 1,064 of her favorite shots and sequenced them together to form this wacky and mesmerizing video. Painted is certainly one-of-a-kind, and it exceeded the artist’s goal of “giving a creative medium that I adore its own personality.”
