“During a visit to Stefano Seletti’s office, a curious object on his desk caught my attention,” said Italian designer Luca Nichetto. “It was a scale model of Manhattan, a gift from a friend. The object had no particular function, but it immediately gave me the idea to create something that played with the surreal proportions of the miniature metropolis.”

The something he created was a silicone dish rack/desk organizer for Seletti. The product is a 3D model of Midtown’s varied architecture. The skyscrapers support the weight of glassware, and the streets and avenues are perfect for sliding in plates or stationary sets. Dubbed Inception after the 2010 box office hit, it is reminiscent of the flexible cityscape that the flick is known for.
