Alberta’s Jasper National Park in Canada proudly unveiled its newest tourist attraction this month after three years of construction. Thought up and developed by Sturgess Architecture, Read Jones Christofferson Engineering, andBrewster Travel Canada, this epic, elliptical bridge dubbed Glacier Skywalk allows park-goers to take in views 30 meters off the edge of a cliff.
The walkway was constructed from wood, steel, and glass so it would blend into its natural surroundings, and no toxic chemicals or paint were used, so the project’s carbon footprint is practically zero. Soaking in the scenery from this lookout point is not for the faint of heart. This engineering marvel may have just created a new sport: extreme sightseeing.
