There would still be a Supreme without Barbara Kruger, but safe to say it would look a lot different. Supreme's now-iconic box logo is derived directly from Kruger's readily identifiable white-on-red work which she pioneered in the late '70s. The one-time magazine designer turned work she did at Conde Nast on its ear, presenting declarative phrases in bold, clear print, often over or alongside equally stark images.
