When Anna Wintour declared that this year's Met Gala would have a "white tie and decorations" dress code, it supposedly sent the men of high society into a tizzy. The strict dress code, according to WWD, has a set of rigid rules: "a black tailcoat, matching trousers with a single stripe of satin or braid in the U.S.; two stripes in Europe or the U.K.; a white piqué wing-collared shirt with stiff front; a white vest; white-colored (e.g., mother-of-pearl) studs and cuff links; a white bow tie; white or gray gloves; black patent shoes, and black dress socks. A top hat is optional."

So how did guys like Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Frank Ocean, and others turn out? According to Anna Wintour, who was on Late Night with Seth Meyers with Sarah Jessica Parker, only one guy truly got it right: Benedict Cumberbatch.

As for Kanye, according to Wintour, his Lanvin formalwear was, "Almost perfect, but he doesn't have the winged collar or the white tie. Otherwise, an A."

Meyers repllied, "So I like that he got absolutely as close as he could and then didn't wear the white tie. That is a very Kanye take on this."
