For his second solo show, Brandon Sines invites the public into the world of Frank Ape, one of his most popular original characters. The exhibition entitled "Dealing With Things Is Tricky" opens on May 3 at Specials on C, a former bodega in Alphabet City that was transformed into a community space after being flooded by Superstorm Sandy.

Sines' work is said to "tap into the American zeitgeist, taking inspiration from contemporary pop culture, celebrity, and iconic movie and music imagery." Solange collects Frank Ape pieces and photographer Robert Misrach has several of Sines' non-Frank works, and with this show as his "most ambitious to-date," a lot more people will become familiar with the artist and the world he has created.
