In 2013, Kim Kardashian came under fire from haters wordwide for the weight gain she experienced during her pregnancy. Daniel Edward counteracted the ridiculous mockery by creating a life-size, naked statue of Kim in celebration of her unborn child. Visitors to the statue at the LAB ART Gallery in Hollywood, Calif. were encouraged to rub its belly for luck. Has Kim become the American Buddha? For a moment, maybe.

Elizabeth Taylor had one of the largest jewelry collections in the world before her death in 2011, when many of her possessions were auctioned off. Kim Kardashian dropped over $60,000 to buy the jewels of her idol and was especially enamored by a jade bracelet.

Some people try to pull scams on Craigslist, and some aim higher. If what Monica Warhol claims is true, then Kim and Kanye owe the Warhol family some serious cash, and if not, it may be one of the most elaborate and confusing art schemes to date. In November, W magazine's cover story featured an in-depth look at Kim Kardashian, the "It" girl whose claim to fame is being herself. Barbara Kruger had a photo shoot with Kim and designed the cover of the issue, in which Kim stands nude, covered only by Kruger-style artwork. The risque cover design provoked some controversy and conversation about feminism and consumerism.

We got to see Kim looking her best in Nick Knight's photo shoot for V magazine. Stylist Ellie Grace Cumming, hair stylist Sam McKnight, and make-up artist Petros Petrohilos dolled her up for the shoot, and Kardashian herself starred as the entrepreneur.

Kim's once LA-girl style has been replaced by a more sophisticated wardrobe, thanks in part to Kanye's influence. Some have noted that her new modest look bears resemblance to that of Marina Abramovic.

He commissioned George Condo (who did Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album and single covers) to paint a nude scene onto a designer Birkin bag. Kim flaunted the customized bag on Instagram, and there is sufficient evidence to say she even brought it with her in public, much to the ire of her fans who found the creation an abomination.
