It goes without saying that when there is a mudslide, you don't really have time to grab anything if you want to stay alive. Actually, that goes for pretty much any natural disaster situation. The mudslides in Washington state claimed a lot of lives last month and the those who were lucky enough to escape were still left with absolutely nothing.

Two women who were found on their roof by the Snohomish County Helicopter Rescue Team lost a lot too, but one of them managed to save a single painting from inside. We don't know the history of the painting or why she felt it was the most important thing in her life, but it is a very touching story and it's amazing that the rescue worker took the time to retrieve it.
