Accomplished artists and art lovers came together at the Brookyln Museum this week for an evening of wining, dining, and mingling at the 2014 Brooklyn Artists Ball. Among the artists in attendance were Kehinde Wiley, Jenny Holzer, Dustin YellinMickalene Thomas, and Chuck Close, who had some pretty harsh things to say about the country's latest art sensation, George W. Bush.

According to Gallerist, on the topic of Bush's paintings and his presidency, Close didn't hold back: "A failed president, a failed painter...It’s hard to tell which he was worse at. He hurt less people with the painting." Close isn't the first person to slam Bush for his less-than-awesome painting skills, but he may be the first to diss the former president's politics in the same breathe.
