BLACK EYE Makes Its Debut With an Exhibition of Impressive Artists Happening Next Week

A brand new movement that examines the 21st century black identity is kicking off in New York next week. BLACK EYE takes a look at "contemporary notions of gender, sexuality, transculturalism, and politics through the lens of the world's leading black creatives," according to the project's Facebook page.

Its first event is an art exhibition, opening in New York next Friday, May 2. It features an impressive roster of renowned artists including Kudzanai Chiurai,LaToya Ruby Frazier, Rashaad Newsome,Toyin Odutola, Maria Magdalena Campos Pons, whose works you can check out above. BLACK EYE's debut show will also include three feature artists with video portraits directed by Danilo Parra, who helped direct A$AP Rocky's "Riot Rave" video.

The show opens May 2 at 57 Walker St. and will be on view only until May 24, so don't miss out.
