The selfie has claimed its first victim: a 19th century Greco-Roman sculpture known as The Drunken Satyr. Recently, a student in Milan climbed atop the marble man's lap to snap a selfie, but while trying to get the perfect shot, he snapped off The Drunken Satyr's leg.

The statue is housed in the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, and the poor guy lost his leg sometime before Thursday morning (when the institution discovered the damage). The work portrays a drunken man with animal features passed out for eternity from what we can only presume was day of boozing. Unfortunately the selfie-taker disturbed his peaceful sleep.
