For their first collaborative project, NOWNESS and Artsy have produced a short film that provides a rare look inside the Shanghai studio of Xu Zhen. The artist has been selected as The Armory Show 2014 Commissioned Artist in honor of the Armory Focus: China section. The section is curated by Philip Tinari, director of The Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing where there is currently a major survey of Xu Zhen's work.

The NOWNESS x Artsy Xu Zhen: MadeIn, Manhattan film is directed by Anthony Chen and features an interview with the artist, as well as a mini-tour of his MadeIn Company where they work in just about every medium, from painting and installation, to sculpture and performance art. Check out the production stills above and watch the film below.
