The Year of McConaughey continues. After scoring a Best Actor Oscar a few weeks ago for his turn as fearless AIDS combatant Ron Woodroof in Dallas Buyer's Club, the veteran actor's star continues to rise with the successful auction of the movie's main prop.

Woodroof's signature ten-gallon cowboy hat, which McConaughey dons for the majority of the film, just sold at an auction for $12,956, over double its projected sale of $5,000. McConz signed the inside of the brim with an autograph that reads, in true MM fashion, "Just keep living." Now how long until those rare True Detective props hit the auction block? We've got dibs on the hand-crafted Lone Star can-men.
