These days, it's common to meet people who wear many creative hats, but few are as accomplished so early in their careers as Mark Anthony Green. Not only is he a seasoned editor at GQ, he's an artist with a clear, accessible vision for his art-making. For his new exhibition at Poppington Galleryin downtown New York, he's showing clever text-based pieces in heavyweight cotton canvas with hand and machine stitched twill lettering.

Of the work he says, "My generation is able to communicate highly complex ideas with very little text or sound. 140 characters here, a text message there. I think this body of work will do the same. I hope each piece will feel big and important—and hopefully look fucking cool."

As such, his pieces appear to be more Internet-savvy versions of work by text masterminds like Barbara Kruger or Ed Ruscha, engaging with text in a way that young people in 2014 can more readily understand. Visit the exhibition at Poppington from March 10 through March 24.
