Australian Artist Norton Flavel Slaps a Huge Inflatable Wine Bag Sculpture on a Beach in Perth

For the 2014 Sculpture by the Sea exhibition, Norton Flavel created an inflatable sculpture of a big metallic bag of wine entitled Bulk Carrier. Flavel said in an interview for the exhibition that he used to play with the cask bag (that bag from box wine for you Americans) when he was a child and became slightly obsessed with them. The bags are an Australian invention, and Flavel typically works in metal, so he figured it would be a good marriage of the two ideas, and he could create a piece at the scale that the wanted if it he made an inflatable instead.
