Blue Forest, a design and construction company based in the UK, teamed up with Quiet Mark and John Lewis to design The Quiet Treehouse, a masterfully engineered elevated structure that looks like an abode from a futuristic fairytale.

The building’s design was inspired by the shape of a small coppice of trees, a natural phenomenon where three tree trunks support a bubble-shaped capsule. The treehouse’s exterior resembles the wooded vegetation of the English countryside, thus eliminating the sharp distinction that usually exists between the natural and the artificial. The designers opted to line the walls, floors, and roof of the structure with acoustiblok, a mostly organic, recyclable material that insulates the inside of the treehouse from outside noise, putting the "quiet" in The Quiet Treehouse.

“The treehouse will provide a quiet haven capturing something of the imagination and adventure of the hideaways we experienced as children,” said Blue Forest director Simon Payne.

The treehouse is set to be unveiled at the Ideal Home Show, and afterward it will be donated to the Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice in West Sussex, UK.

“So many temporary structures for shows are designed to only be up for a short while and are then dismantled and the material thrown out which is a tremendous waste,” lamented Blue Forest founder Andy Payne. By giving the structure to the community when it has outlived its show days, Blue Forest is setting a new standard for social awareness and community outreach.
