Levalet, one of our favorite French street artists, has put up a new piece in Paris’ Fifth District entitled Fly Away. Applied using his signature method—ink and pasted craft paper—his latest edition depicts a traditional 9-to-5 worker throwing caution (and real memos!) to the wind. Whether he’s making a remark on society’s increasing demands on the employee (his status as a social critic is well-known), or whether the piece simply acknowledges that a free spirit dwells within every individual is somewhat of a mystery. What is clear, however, is his commitment to making art that challenges the traditional ways artists interact with their environments.
