In a perfect world, there would be no such thing as war, and humans would all live in harmony with one another. Sadly, this is not the case for many countries throughout the world. Syria's civil war, for example, has killed over 100,000 people, according to the U.N., and roughly 5 million have lost their homes. Thousands of Syrians have been forced to relocate to  Za'atari, a refugee camp in Jordan, where German street art duo Herakut recently found themselves.

While in Za'atari, Herakut painted two colorful murals in an area, where many of the local children like to play—an act made possible by Awareness & Prevention Through Art. One depicts a boy splashing water onto a cat, doe, and other animals. The other shows the same boy at play, stacking bright blocks to spell out letters. Hopefully these two murals will brighten up these local refugees' home.
