Shell Villa, an ARTechnicdesign, is innovative in concept and in style. This cozy home is located in the wilderness of Nagano, Japan. The building’s elegant sloping waves of concrete give it a futuristic aesthetic that almost seems to clash with its surrounding landscape. However, large windows and an inner courtyard help keep the structure firmly rooted in nature by allowing in natural light and providing areas for gardening. The contours of the shell create a way for indoor and outdoor spaces to merge peacefully. Much of the building’s furniture is built into the interior of the house in a modern, clean design.
