The design of this “revolving chair” by Korean designer Jeon Kyung is almost too simple to not be ingenious—a kind of hallmark of good design. Featuring a prismatic series of revolving red rectangular pieces, the designer rotated the individual units of the rectangles into a functional curvilinear form. Part furniture design, part pure mathematics, all inspired design, Kyung created something as gorgeous here as it is practical. Though it looks like it may collapse into itself at any moment, the offset nature of each piece allows for the structure’s stability.
