10 Brands Hypebeasts Haven't Ruined Yet

Tourne De Transmission is a low-key star of London menswear. The brand focuses on the essentials that every guy needs to build a stylish wardrobe and gives them a thoughtful detail, an eyecatching print, or uses a fabric that completely changes the look of the garment. For spring/summer 2014, the brand uses its usual color palette of black and white and added beige and taupe into the mix, and has us wishing for warmer weather. Speaking of this spring collection, it will be hitting the Tourne De Transmission site soon, so keep your eyes peeled. 

Artist Wes Lang teamed up with clothing designer Austin Sherbanenko of Odyn Vovk fame to introduce a new streetwear brand the duo have named Best Wishes. It's a continuation of Lang's popular artwork and Sherbanenko's dark aesthetic, which is perfect for streetwear right now, especially because we've been dying for something new. The line consists of tees, hoodies, and socks for right now, but as it grows in popularity, expect to see more offerings from them. 

Over All Master Cloth is a diffusion line from Carhartt's WIP. With a clear inspiration stemming from its workwear roots, OAMC is primarily focused on the streets. So, instead of heavy canvas everywhere, there is a ton of nylon and cotton, making it ultra wearable and appealing to a larger customer base.

For its spring/summer 2014 collection—only its second—there is a high focus on outerwear and some simple suiting. It's basically a lesson in menswear history parred down for the young'ns to consume. 

Christian Dada is one of the biggest names showing during Tokyo Fashion Week, and righfully so. He launched his brand in Fall of 2010 and kicked it off with womenswear, but is now showing his menswear collection—something that already has everyone comparing his work to Hedi Slimane's collections for Dior Homme.

His all black aesthetic and punk vibes have earned him a cult following amongst the fashion flock. And the great news is, his clothes will be stocked at more retailers soon. Don't be that guy who was late to Hedi Slimane's genius. Get on board with Christian Dada ASAP.

Aitor Thorpe had a mission and a vision and stuck to it. Hugely inspired by technical brands Stone Island and C.P. Company, and enamored with anatomy, Thorpe honed his design skills and aesthetic to perfection before launching officially. In 2008 he got the dream opportunity to work with Stone Island, which was presented at Milan Fashion Week, and in 2009 worked with C.P. Company for Salon de Mobile. Thrope considers both brands standards of design, and so if you don't believe "Good things come to those who wait," Thrope might disagree.

His first official complete collection recently launched in January 2013 as a part of the London Mens Collections, and is now found at select retailers around the world.

Devon Halfnight Leflufy is another designer that hails from Antwerp and is also a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Uh, echoes of Raf Simons, anyone?) Since graduating, his celebrated collection was picked up by several top retailers, including Opening Ceremony, and he shows no sign of slowing down.

His bright and powerful graphics and prints are inspired by L.A. in the '90s, and are consistent through all of his collections. He is a leader in the pack of luxury streetwear and will be one of the biggest names in that market by the end of the year. Hold us to this statement.

Julien David is a master craftsmen. He's obsessed with fabrics and also makes super wearable clothes, making any purchase an instant win. He'll make something that every guy likes, such as a varsity jacket, but make it in silk-cotton to give it a super luxe feel. But for the fashion heads, he'll make that same jacket with an elongated body, modeled after a trench silhouette. So if you want to take a little risk, he's got two versions of the same dope jacket. Basically, he appeals to everyone, but has yet to be over-sensationalized by hypebeasts.

Cottweiler is a UK based label that focuses on one thing: luxury casual wear. And it's the best. The brand's fabric choices, which include a super luxe cotton blend to viscose nylons, is unmatchable. Cottweiler also pays close attention to detail, but it's done with a light-hand and elegant subtlety. Most of the tops have raglan stitching, and the pants are cut to fit all body types, so whether you're short or tall, fat or skinny, you'll feel and look like a million bucks in the gear.

Jan Jan Van Essche is a wunderkind in the fashion game. He only produces one full collection per year, but already has diehards waiting all year round. His clothing is cut loose, and meant to be layered, so you can mix and match pieces from each collection and each season and everything will still flow together. His process and the garments he creates are so unique that he's been making waves in menswear since graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In fact, he's received prestigious accolades like The Dries Van Noten Award—and anyone who gets an award in Dries' name is most definitely a super talent.

Alex Mattsson is a London based super talent who deserves your full attention. A classically trained tailor and graduate of the Royal College of Art, Mattsson is a standout from the pack of emerging designers in London, who delivers a hybrid of luxury streetwear and traditional menswear. The surface looks like streetwear, but up close the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and keen fabric choices shine through.

We showed you the video from his latest collection a few weeks back, but in a few months you can actually start copping the clothes in stores. The uniqueness is obvious, and people who aren't afraid of taking risks should be rocking Mattsson real soon.
