We Tumblforya: Cloaque

A collaborative scrolling art project that may overwhelm your browser.

We found Cloaque thanks to the folks over at ANIMAL who spoke with a few of the artists and organizers involved with the project. In the "About" section of the blog, Carlos Saez and Claudia Mate explain that the project is "like a digital landfill," a collaborative collection of "digital trash" that has been turned into a browser-killing portal of GIFS, JPGs, and various other Internet stuff. Artists take the wealth of material found online and blend it all together into the scrolling blog.

There is a new "Map" feature that allows you to find an artist's contribution and to see where they are in the world, but just like a real landfill, attempting to navigate it will almost definitely lead you deeper and deeper until you give up until next time. We suggest just diving in and scrolling until you don't want to anymore or until you can't.
